Five zippered, transparent vinyl bags to organize your first aid supplies in a unique manner: my symptom and body system. Each bag has a humorous icon, making it easy to determine what should go in the bag. Each comes with a laminated list of items you should pack in that bag, as well as discount coupons on relevant first aid products. Think of these as sophisticated "stuff sacs" for meds.

Should you fall ill or get injured while traveling: What would you do? There are travelers who frantically rifle through a first-aid kit that resembles a giant black hole - brimming with a mass of creams, salves, pills and bandages. Sure, it may be well stocked, but do you even know what's in it, especially since you didn't stock it yourself? Can you find what you need quickly? And how many of these kits cater to women's health or dental issues, or the less common ills, such as a jellyfish sting? Then there's the other type of traveler, the one that takes a minimalist approach, toting around no more than a bottle of ibuprofen. What would you do if you're a woman traveling in rural China and develop vaginitis in the middle of the night? Or you're cross-country skiing in Lapland, hit a tree and knock out a tooth?

Doc-in-a-Bag allows you to organize your first-aid supplies in a unique manner: by symptom and body system:

• bites, stings and rashes

• cuts and bruises

• tummy troubles

• eye, ear, nose, mouth

• women's issues

The single bag is sold empty with no icon, list of suggested items or samples. It's for the person who wants the pouch that suits their own purposes.

10% of annual net profits will go toward supporting the efforts of She's The First, a non-profit that sponsors girls’ education in 11 low-income countries (including Nepal, Guatemala and Sierra Leone) with the goal of creating first-generation graduates and the next generation of global leaders. (After all, I’m a first-generation graduate of Barnard College, and a former educator.) I couldn't be happier to partner with this inspiring organization that has made it their mission to increase the number of female graduates around the world.
